
Looking to improve your health and lose weight? All too often we are focused on losing weight and find ourselves stuck with feelings of inadequacy because we can’t seem to make the scale budge. The amazing reality is that if we focus on getting healthy the weight will fall off and we will become our intended size naturally. It all starts with loving your body as it is now and making decisions every day to nourish your body from the inside out. There are many ways to improve your health and it will be different for everyone. Here are three strategies to dramatically improve your health in a short period of time:
- Drink more water. In general, you should try to drink a half ounce to one ounce of water for each pound you weigh, every day. And no – soda/coffee/tea/whatever does not count towards your water goal for the day.
- Eat more plants. Focus on adding more plants to your diet, rather than focusing on removing processed foods. The more unprocessed natural foods you eat the less junk you will eat. Try baby carrots and hummus for a snack instead of a bag of chips. It’s a simple swap and adds so much more nutrition to your diet. If you eat real food as close to the natural state as possible you don’t have to count calories.
- Move your body every single day. It can be as simple as taking a walk and does not have to happen at a gym. Just move your body more.
This is a good start for anyone and everyone. More water, more plants, more movement. The unhealthy habits naturally work themselves out the more you focus on adding in the good stuff.
